Food For Thought...

"When you give someone a book, you don't give him just paper, ink, and glue. You give him the possibility of a whole new life."

Christopher Morley
1890-1957, Novelist, Journalist and Poet

This seemed like a great quote for a bunch of book lovers! :)

Have a great day!
Peace and love,
Alannah

What I enjoy in a good book is being drawn in so deeply to the world of the novel that I can see, smell and hear what the characters do. That's also what I strive for in my own writing. And with the help of Margie Lawson's green highlighter, I'm getting better, LOL.

Too funny!

I'm with you. I didn't start reading romance until about 6 years ago. I'd always read self-help books, and that type of thing. But I was so tired of reading books dealing with ADHD, bi-polar disorder, ODD disorder, that I needed a break.

That's when I found Janelle's book, and I loved the characters so much, and was so drawn into the story that I was hooked. That's why I will always give Janelle credit for being the most influential person in my writing.

If that book hadn't been so strong, I might have read it, thought it was good, but then gone back to my "technical" stuff.

But I fell into the world of the Wilde brothers and cousins and was hooked.

My first "grown up" book was Mary Stewart's THE MOONSPINNERS. I use romance to hide from the real world, escaping to a place where there is always a HEA. I want to suck readers in like that with my own writing. Great quote today!
