Slice of Life

It's been so lonely around here since conference, I forgot to post this morning. While checking e-mail, I came across this quote and thought, "That would be good for Tuesday's Food for Thought" and then...the lightbulb went on.

Since I didn't have anything planned for today, I decided it would work for today and I could fill you guys in on a small accomplishment in my life:

"All who have accomplished great things have had a great aim; have fixed their gaze on a goal which was high, one which sometimes seemed impossible."

Orison Swett Marden
1850-1924, Writer

My accomplishment isn't great, it's actually small. But it's so important to me, that I'm practically floating on air. A few weeks ago, I got serious about losing weight. Going on vacation for the most of the first 2 weeks, didn't help, but it didn't make me any less determined.

I was almost afraid to, but I finally weighed and measured myself this morning.

I've lost 5 pounds and a total of 3 1/2 inches!! Yay me!!

Aside from the blister on my toe (lol) I feel better and I have way more energy. And that was my goal. I wanted to be healthier!! Although thinner is a part of that, it wasn't my main goal.

Anyway, just wanted to share. I'll give you another update in a month or so.

Happy Thursday!!
Peace and love,
Alannah

Great job with the weight loss. I'd hit a bit of a plateau. I was so excited I didn't gain any weight while at RWA. Looks like I'm back on track after losing 1 pound this week. Getting ready to up my miles in jogging each week, so I'm hoping for more weight loss next week.

Not gaining weight at conference is HUGE!!! It's not easy to eat healthy and maintain a good exercise routine while away from home. I was so impressed with your running while you were there and I'm thrilled that you're back to losing. It feels so good to see progress!!!
