"To be a champ, you have to believe in yourself when nobody else will."

Sugar Ray Robinson
1920-1989, American Boxer

This seemed most appropriate for me today. I finished up my story, Last Call, wrote the synopsis and query letter, and got all of it submitted to the Brava contest last night.

At this point, I'm suffering from the same depression I always get when I've finished a story and I'm absolutely convinced the story sucks. I'm trying to put that feeling aside, and believe in myself, and get ready for the next story.

First things first though - my house needs cleaned!!! It's so bad, I'm actually excited about cleaning. LOL Oh, and I think there's a stack of bills around here somewhere that need to be paid too.

Have a great Tuesday, everyone!!
Peace and love,

WTG on getting "Last Call" out the door! Cyber chocs heading your way.

I know what you mean about feeling "down" after a submission. Heck, I'm still not convinced my sale isn't a big, scary mistake, LOL.

I'd say "have fun with your cleaning" but that's just wrong, hehe.

Congrats on getting "Last Call" finished and off!

If you finish up cleaning your house and are still in the mood, you are welcome to come and clean my house. ;)

What is it with cleaning house when a query/submission goes out the door? I did that this weekend after sending the full of SOTW off to an agent.

My problem is I think my stuff is fine UNTIL I send it out and THEN I'm convinced it sucks and the recipient is going to tell the whole world how bad it/I suck(s).

Interesting enough, I got an automatic rejection the same day I got the request for the full. Can you say rollercoaster? *rolls eyes*

You'll be fine, Alannah, and Lu? Your sale was not a fluke!

Lu, what Silver said - Your sale was not a mistake!!! But I understand why you feel that way, and I think every writer feels a little bit of that. At least the ones I've seen do.

Liza - My house is so nasty, it's gonna take a while to get it finished. And I'm pretty sure, by then, I will have lost the mood. LOL But thanks for the offer, anyway!!

Silver - I feel the same as you. I thought this story was good, maybe not great, but at least good. Until I hit send. Then I sat here and thought of a million things I wished I'd done differently, or that I could've done differently that would have made it better. *sigh*

All I can do is hope it's good enough at this point.

And please explain your rejection/request...that wasn't from the same person, right?

This business is such a roller-coaster, and the emotions seem to run to the max. Not just up and down, but UP and DOOOOOWWWNNNN, as high and low as you can go.

That's why I cherish my friends, like all of you, so much!!!
