Let's Talk Brothers

Sorry, Lu, I know this isn't a conversation you'll want to take a part in because you're a freak and don't like vampires. ROTFL I'm just kidding, to each his own.

But I'm not reading anything new and this has been on my mind a lot this past week. For those who do like JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood, which brother is your favorite?

Wrath was pretty hot, but for some reason I had a hard time really falling for him. I mean, he's old! And Beth was so young. LOL For some reason, that just sort of hung in the back of my mind, and while I liked the book, it kept me from really falling in love with him.

Rhage...aka Hollywood....Or, Hal E. Wood (lol...that was priceless!). Good looking, terrible curse, funny. What's not to love? I was hooked on this series at this point and had to learn more about these brothers.

And then came Zsadist. Wow!! To be such a tortured soul, he had so much depth and his love for Bella was amazing. Instantly, I fell in love with him and then I had a hard time deciding...was Rhage my favorite or Z?

Well, Butch O'Neil settled that problem for me. I love his personality, he makes me laugh and he's just damned sexy! He became my new favorite, hands down.

But then came V's book. I know he can be a real ass but there's just something about him that makes me really, really like him. He's so honest with his feelings...I guess honest in general, which is what makes him such a PITA. But that's also endearing. And I really want to know what the WARDen lied to him about! LOL

Phury is an important part of the Brotherhood, but he's overly heroic IMO and I never really did get into him. I'd like to have his hair though!

I have to admit I wasn't real excited about Rhevenge's book, I hadn't particularly liked him in the previous books. But as a writer, I'm in awe of her ability to take this anti-hero and turn him into such a wonderful hero. I liked the book, but he didn't threaten Butch or V in my mind as a favorite. hehe

Coming next is John Matthew. I've been waiting for this book since I flipped the last page on Rhevenge's book. I really like him. A lot! And I can't wait for him to kick ass. I'm also curious as to whether or not he'll realize he's Darius reincarnated.

So what about those of you who love these brothers as much as me? Who's your favorite? Can you pick just one? Are you as excited to read John and Xhex's book as much as me?

I hope it's a fantastic weekend for everyone!!
Peace and love,
Alannah

I'm going for coffee with Lu since I'm not into vampires, either!

Have a great weekend, Alannah :)

:( Sorry Janet. I wasn't sure if you were on the side of the brothers with me or not. I couldn't remember.

Have a great weekend!!!

ROFL Janet and I will enjoy our coffee in a safe, vampire-free world. (I must confess Anne Rice's vampires were hawt.)

Silver, thanks for the heads-up on Laurent, fabulous! He's some cute, eh? Itzhak Perlmann also did a Cinema Serenade - lovely music.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Z is my favorite brother! I loved him from his very first appearance in the series.

I can't wait for John Matthew's book! I'm buying it on the release date and going to her book signing in KY over Mother's Day weekend with my cousins(I turned them on to the Brotherhood).

Wrath...primarily because he was my first, and I just love his story. Alannah, to be perfectly honest, I love them all. Is that bad? I loved Wrath's journey the most, and I think that JM is gonna be a close second to him. Which book are you on now?

Liz, I am eagerly awaiting JM's LM too. Oh, I can't wait to see what the WARDen did with his story. Make sure you have a box of Kleenex because she said it is gonna be an emotional ride.

Have either of you joined the boards yet? Oh, you have to if you haven't. Friend me on there too...pavary (long story). They do a lot of speculations there, and I try not to go over there too close to the release of a book. It is kinda like the excerpt thing with me...I don't want all the specs to ruin my initial read of the book. That's just me though.

Alannah, you have got to read the Insider's Guide too...there is a story called Father Mine in there and it is beautiful.

Peace and love,
Paula R.

Enjoy the coffee, Lu!

I really wish I could go to one of her book signings! I remember when you went last year, Liza, and I was as envious then as I am now. LOL

Paula - I've read them all. I found the series back when Butch's book was coming out. I ended up reading Rhage's first, then Wrath's, then Rhage again, and after that kept them in order. And have re-read them all.

And I LOVE the Insider's Guide. Yeah, the short story with Z and Bella is fantastic (and I love the slices of life on her website), but I really like the back part of the book on writing. It's actually kind of worn, becuase I flip through it so often and re-read it.

But I hate to cry! Dammit, why does JM's book have to come with Kleenex!! V's, and Phury's book (because of personal reasons and my son's battle with addictions) were hard enough. It better be emotional in a good way or I might have to pull the plug on future books.

Paula - I shipped a package out to you today. Sorry I didn't get it out the beginning of the week like I said I would. I have been working on taxes all stinking week and today was the first day I've gone out.

Hey Alannah, no worries about the package being sent now...told you, it will get here when I need a boost, aka when I need it most...LOL!!!

I think JM's book is going to be emotional in a good way. I mean, she said certain scenes made her cry. Think about JM's background though...there has to been some really deep stuff going on in his head, and to find out he is D re-incarnated, that might be a doozy for him...not sure he will find out in this book though. I am looking forward to it too. I flew through them too. I am saving the re-read for when I get closer to the pub date. I met the WARDen last year and she is hilarious. I hope to get a chance to chat with her again in Nashville...I have pics of her on FB.

OMG, Z and Bella's story in the BDBIG was awesome. I cried so much when I read that one. Love the slices of life too, and she is not saying what is going on between her and V. I am sure it will come out one day...LOL!!!

Peace and love,
Paula R.

I love vampires. And Janet...that just leaves more of Sinjen to go around. Of course, having a sexy werewolf, a hawt gargoyle, and a few fae flitting through SOTW means there are plenty of others to check out.

Lu, glad you liked Laurent. Yeah. Sexy. Who know a violinist could be!?!

Alannah...Since I'm older than dirt, I have to go with Wrath. He didn't seem old at all! LOLOL. (Actually, that's the only book I've read *blush*)

Silver, you have got to read the others, if only to catch up on what is going on in Wrath's world. I love him too. Age aint nothin' but a number as far as I am concerned. I mean, the man looks like he is 30 everyday, so what difference does it make, right? And, he doesn't move like he's old...;)

Peace and love,
Paula R.
