What I'm Reading...

Last week, or maybe the week before, I mentioned I was reading a book by Suzanne Brockmann. It's one of her Troublshooter Series books and I loved it. So, I decided to go back to the beginning and start working my way through the series. I'm not entirely sure this is the first in the series, but its pretty darn close to the beginning.

I'm also beginning to understand why JR Ward says she used to carry these books around her house, crying, because she'd never be able to write like that. Yep...I totally get that!! LOL

Here's the cover and the scoop - details are from her website:

After a near-fatal head injury, U.S. Navy SEAL Lieutenant Tom Paoletti catches a terrifying glimpse of an international terrorist in his New England hometown. When he calls for help, the Navy dismisses the danger as injury-induced imaginings. In a desperate last-ditch effort to prevent disaster, Tom creates his own makeshift counterterrorist team, assembling his most loyal officers, two elderly veterans of the Second World War, a couple of misfit teenagers, and Dr. Kelly Ashton -- the sweet "girl next door" who has grown into a remarkable woman. Once known as the town’s infamous bad boy, Tom has always longed for Kelly. Now he has one final chance for happiness, one last chance to win her heart, and one desperate chance to save the day....

HERO: Lt. Tom Paoletti, U.S. Navy SEAL Commander
HEROINE: Dr. Kelly Ashton, pediatrician
LOCATION: Baldwin’s Bridge, Massachusetts

Awards:
Romantic Times 4 and 1/2 Star Gold Medal Review
Voted # 1 on the Romance Writers of America's Top Ten List of Favorite Books of the Year 2000

Have a fantastic weekend!!!
Peace and Love,
Alannah

I have the first book in this series in my TBR pile, but haven't gotten to it yet. I'm reading Kiss of the Phantom by Julie Leto. Since it's the last in the series, I've been holding off as long as possible.

Julie's done a great job with the Phantom series, I've enjoyed all of them.

When I was on Suzanne Brockmann's website I checked and I think The Unsung Hero is the first in the series. I'll be curious what you think when you get around to reading it.

Have a great weekend!

How bad am I that I've never read any of Brockmann's books? I know, I know. I lead a sheltered life or something! LOL

I'm finally setting aside the time to read Leslie Kelly-Parrish's BLACK AT HEART. As much as I loved the other two in the series, I think this one may be my favorite. The hero is dead-on intriguing with secrets out the yahoo...

Next up is...I have no clue. Whatever falls off the TBR mountain, I suppose...

I love Suz Brockmann...the Troubleshooters are a wonderful group. I forgot which book was the first one that I read, but I knew that it wasn't the first in the series, so I stopped reading them until I can get them all...I read other stuff she writes too...She is an amazing writer...

Silver, I am shocked and appalled....lol...good seeing you here...I am soooo jealous of you btw...you have all three Black CATs books...boohoo...mine will get here soon...

Hey Alannah, I am going to try and visit you more often okay...I have been pretty lax, but you are always in my thoughts...

Jules is a phenomenal writer too...I got the privilege of running into all four of the plotmonkeys at Nationals this year and it was awesome to see them all together...they are wonderful women, just like you see in the jungle...

Have a wonderful rest of the day...

Peace and love,
Paula R.

Black at Heart is my favorite of the Black CATs books too. Just still trying to figure out a way to post a review without giving anything away. I have a few Jill Shalvis books up next.

LOL...Paula, have you noticed that you and I are the only ones who don't have the whole Black Cats Series yet? But they're coming out back to back right? So we can get the next one in August? Right? Please tell me that's right?!

Silver, I hadn't read any of Suz Brockmann's either until the past week (or 2 weeks ago). And I only picked it up because I'm such a JR Ward fan - and she's a Brockmann fan - that I figured I might like them. I was right. I do!

And Paula, I'm like you, the first I read wasn't the first in the series so now I'm going back and trying to get them in order, or at least as close in order as I can. I'm going to the used bookstore this week and see how many of them I can find there.

It's great to see here, btw. I always enjoy it when you stop by - whenever you can.

I'm off to the river. Kidlet had an ear infection the last time we were there and he couldn't ride the jetski.

I can edit there, just the same as I can edit at home, so I'm going to take him down there for the day.

Have a great weekend, everyone.
