Giveaway #3 - How fast is your REACTION TIME? Enter now!

For Giveaway #3, I am going to talk about my book REACTION TIME. This book was published back in 2008 and shortly thereafter, a blogger did an interview with Adam. I have posted that interview below, and I have Adam here to answer any follow up questions you may have.

Five days. Close quarters. It’s enough to drive any woman crazy—or into submission…
Nikki Kincaid carries her smart mouth and in-your-face attitude like other women carry mace. But the sharpest parts of her razor tongue are reserved for Adam Guthrie, a man who sparks her body’s reaction time quicker than a green light. That out-of-control response terrifies her, because control is her middle name.
When someone starts sending Nikki threatening letters, Adam jumps at her brother’s request to help protect her—whether she likes it or not. For the past year and a half he’s been watching her, analyzing her body language and cutting remarks, and has come to one definitive conclusion. She’s a sexual submissive in hiding.
Five days in close quarters is exactly what Adam’s been waiting for—and Nikki’s idea of hell. Bringing her deepest desires to the surface will be the greatest challenge of his life. And, if he succeeds, his greatest reward.

Now available from Samhain Publishing

Now here’s Adam…

Welcome to the blog. How are you?
I’m great, thanks. Happy birthday, by the way.

Aw, thanks. *blushes* So, what have you been up to lately?
Nikki and I just got back from vacation. We wanted to spend Christmas with our families, but since it’s our first Christmas together we wanted to go away and have some alone time too. *slow, easy grin* We had a great time.

I am sure you did. *laughs* So I hear that the author Alannah Lynne wrote a book featuring you and Nikki. Have you read it yet? If so, how accurate was it?
Alannah sent Nikki an advanced copy. Nikki read it to me while we were driving to the mountains.  It’s a pretty accurate portrayal of the way things began with Nikki and me.

That’s good to know. Some people might be bothered to have their life shared with the world, how do you feel about your story being told?
Flattered, I guess?

That’s cool. Can you tell us more about yourself?
I’m a detective with the local police force. I’ve been friends with Nikki’s brother, Nate, for a couple of years and I’ve been biding my time, waiting for Nikki to realize what a great guy I am. *laughs* I’m grateful she finally got with the program.

Sounds like you are a very patient man. What about Nikki…can you tell us about her?
She is the most stubborn, hard-headed, exasperating woman I have ever met. *chuckles and eyes sparkle* And I wouldn’t want her to be any other way. Life with her is a constant challenge and I love every minute of it.

She sounds like she was worth the wait, then. So can you describe yourself in three words?
Honest. Fair. Patient – although Nikki tests that patience on a daily basis.
I can see how she could do that. What three words would you use to describe Nikki?
Stubborn. Hard-headed. Mine.

Great! What do you like to do for fun?
*slow, easy grin again* These answers have to be kept PG, right?

Um, yeah, but I think we get the picture. Well, Adam, thanks for being here. I know you are busy, but before you leave, do you have anything you’d like to ask my blog readers?
Yeah, I need their help. I want to get Nikki a puppy for Christmas. Since Amber spends most weekends with Nate. And I have to work most weekends, Nikki spends a lot of time at the race track by herself. I want to get her a puppy to keep her company but I don’t know what would be a good breed. I only know about big dogs. But she needs one that would do well travelling and in the small space of her motor home. I’d love suggestions.

Aww…how sweet of you! I hope you and Nikki have a wonderful Christmas!

For this post I am offering two commenters a copy of Reaction Time. All you have to do to enter is comment below and tell me if you are a car person or not and fill out the form. All contest will be open until noon tomorrow (8/31/12). Winners will be picked and notified shortly thereafter.

Wow...This book was a blast. I wish you'd turn this one into a series too (maybe a story about Nate and Amber or the other members of their "club"). I love NASCAR and last Saturday I was at my local raceway watching the jetcars. So, I guess that mekaes me a car person lol.

Adam, get Nikki a DoxyPoo (dachshund/poodle mix). They are smart, loyal, easy to train and cuter than anything.

Loved their story.

OMG this book looks so good, I just put it on my wishlist! I am not a car person except to shuttle the kids to school and appointments.

Becki - What are jet cars? I'm definitely a car person, but that's a new one on me!

Liz - It sounds cute!! I've never heard of them before, I'll have to google it.

Thanks Cathy! I love tough heroines, who need even tougher heroes, so it was a fun book to write.

Susan - I had a mouth full of water when I read your post and nearly choked on it laughing. Both of my kids have their driver's license now, but my husband doesn't drive because of seizures. I spent a lot of time on the road, too!

Despite the fact that my first car in 1983 was a '67 Ford Mustang I've never been a car guy. My sister is the car 'guy' in the family.

I am not really a car person. Haven't read this book yet... sounds great!

This book sounds really good, and I just love the cover. I am not a car person at all. If it weren't for my family knowing so much about them I'd be 100% clueless.

I have never been a car crazed person. As long as they run well, aren't too expensive (get good gas milage), have a good stereo, I have always been happy. These days, I can't ride for very long at a time due to back/hip/leg/foot problems, and a history of blood clots. I have to stop often and get out and walk around. And driving myself for more than short distances are pretty much out due to the problems with my back/hip/leg/foot (right side).

Alannah...I found this youtube link for the jetcars at our local raceway. This video is from 3 years ago, but these are the same cars we watched last Saturday. They are powered by jet engines.

We have Dale's dad's old 72 or 73 Nova....orange with black srtipes from hood to trunk. Gets attention wherever we go!

David - my mouth dropped when I read that!! I was a Mustang person before I met Hubs - who also happened to be a Mustang person. A '67 would've been awesome!!!

We HAD a 2001 Cobra convertible... until he wrapped it around a telephone pole on the way to work one morning. I still have to remind myself that I love him more than that car, and that at least he was okay, even though the car is toast. :-D

Thanks Melanie - Good luck in the drawing! Thanks for commenting!!

Thanks Tiffany - I loved that cover from the second I saw it! Thanks for dropping by and visiting with me!

Thanks Silver!! It was a fun book to write. Probably my favorite, from a writing stand point. Nikki was a blast!

Tara - Good luck in the contest. If you end up reading it, please let me know what you think!

June - :-( I'm sorry that you have those problems. I spend a ton of time in the car - my husband doesn't drive because of seizures, and my youngest has only had his license for a year. Spending a lot of time in the car is uncomfortable for me, and I don't have any of those problems. I can only imagine what it must be like for you. Gentle hugs!!

Becki - Holy shit!! Thay're literally strapped into a rocket!! That's insane! Hubs said he's watched them race on TV before, but I've never seen them. I'll have to watch out for them now. LOL

Thanks so much for sharing the link!

Amanda - when I was in college a friend redid an old Nova - I think it was about a '67 or '69, a few years older than Dale's, but I loved that car! About 2 weeks after he finished refurbishing it, he hydroplaned, crossed the center line, hit 2 lanes of oncoming traffic, and totaled it. :-( He was fine, but the car was done for.
